Ischia is a volcanic island in the Tyrrhenian Sea with a population of over 60,000. Located at
the northern end of the Gulf of Naples, Ischia is almost entirely mountainous, with the highest peak being volcanic Mount Epomeo at 788 meters which was active in Classical times. Ischia os the largest of the Neapolitan islands and a popular tourist destination.
