The 2014 LA Art Show Patron Reception will be a celebration of the 50 Year Partnership between the City of Los Angeles and its French Sister City, Bordeaux.

The reception will also honor the Chair of Sister Cities of Los Angeles, Inc., Los Angeles City Councilmember Tom LaBonge, for his support and his advocacy for continued diplomacy and exchange.

The reception will kick off a year-long artistic and cultural exchange between the two cities and debut this dynamic relationship, gathering 500 special guests including: celebrities, artists, high-profile art lovers, and industry and government officials from Los Angeles and France.

Benefiting from a partnership with Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux, guests will be invited to an exclusive wine tasting featuring famous names from Bordeaux such as: Barsac, Haut-Médoc, Listrac, Margaux, Moulis, Pauillac, Pessac-Léognan, Pomerol, Saint-Emilion, Sauternes, and Saint-Julien.

The « chef of note », John Sedlar of Rivera Restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles, will fittingly serve creative California/Latino inspired samplers to accompany the world-renowned wines of Grands Crus de Bordeaux.

During this special event, guests will also have the chance to view exhibitions featuring limited-edition fine art prints from The Chicano Collection / La Colección Chicana, photography from renowned photographer
Gil Garcetti, and artworks from participating Los Angeles and Bordeaux artists of the France Los Angeles Residency Exchange (FLARE) program.

To help raise funds for the 2014 celebration of the 50-year partnership between Los Angeles and Bordeaux,
Cheech Marin has designated the donation of one limited-edition portfolio, printed by Richard S. Duardo, from The Chicano Collection / La Colección Chicana to be sold during the LA Art Show. Proceeds from this sale will be donated to Sister Cities of Los Angeles, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, to support this year-long cultural exchange.

ABOUT THE LA ART SHOW

For 18 years, the LA Art Show has delivered the broadest spectrum of art from across the globe to Los Angeles' diverse and engaged collector base.

The LA Art Show, created by the Fine Art Dealers Association (FADA), is the longest running venue for contemporary, modern, historic, and traditional art in the country.

The 2013 show hosted more than 100 prominent galleries and drew more than 50,000 visitors with its two-show concept that distinctly separated modern and contemporary pieces from historical and traditional works.

The 2014 LA Art Show will once again gather Los Angeles’ top collectors and benefactors to showcase artists from over 100 of the world’s most exquisite galleries.

Attendees will feast their eyes on more than 15,000 works of art from centuries past to the present.
