SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SISTER CITIES CONFERENCE 2014

Southern California Sister Cities held their Southern California Sister Cities International conference at City Hall's Tom Bradley room on April 5th. This annual event truly highlighted the incredible growth and development of not only Sister Cities International, but also the presence of people-people friendships between Americans and peoples of other nations. This year's themes, "Joining Forces for Success," embraced U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower's famous quote that initiated Sister Cities International in 1956. As the Chair of Sister Cities of Los Angeles, Councilmember LaBonge is a proud supporter of continuing to expand international cultural exchange in Los Angeles and around the world. He and his staff applaud Sisters Cities International for introducing opportunities to build global cooperation, promote cultural understanding, and stimulate economic development for all its member cities.

"SOCAL Sister Cities are at a tipping point, where positive change, open dialog and working toward linking each of our organizations, programs and youth is a vital next step in our organization’s future.”
– attendee of SoCal conference, David Zanatta.
