SPLIT - CROTIA
Split, the second largest city of Croatia, was conceived within the walls of the Diocletian Palace, which was built by the Roman emperor as his private residence. Due to its central position on the Adriatic coast, Split has developed into the leading city of south Croatia, its large port a commercial and industrial center and popular European tourist resort.
Today, Split is the center of cultural and scientific life, with many institutions, museums, galleries and theatres.
