Strengthening Economic and Diplomatic Links with Mexico City

On January 25-28, 2017, SCOLA participated is a short trip to Mexico that included the Main Museum, and the Southern California Institute of Architecture. The purpose of SCOLA’s participation was to re-connect with Mexico City diplomatic and governmental agencies and brief them on SCOLA’s reorganization. We had the opportunity to meet with Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera, Secretary of Economic Development Salomon Chertorivski and Head of Foreign Affairs, Cuauhtemoc Cardenas.Our visit was at the height of confrontational statements against Mexico from our country’s leadership. Our meetings with Mexico City’s leadership was timely as we reaffirmed our commitment to a strong bilateral relationship between Los Angeles and Mexico City, and to building friendship and understanding.
