Los Angeles City Council Honors the Students, the Program and Sponsors at City Hall Presentation

LOS ANGELES, JUNE 10, 2018 – Sister Cities of Los Angeles (SCOLA) and the China General Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles (CGCC-Los Angeles) announced they have partnered to send twenty talented young Jazz musicians from Alexander Hamilton High School to represent Los Angeles in visits to both Chengdu and Shanghai, China. On Tuesday, June 11 the Los Angeles City Council will honor the musicians and sponsors in a special presentation at City Council at City Hall. Councilmember Paul Koretz will host the event as both a Hamilton High School Alumnus and Councilmember of the Fifth District where the school is located.

While in Chengdu the Hamilton students will participate in the 12th annual Sister Cities International Youth Music Festival. In addition, generous Chinese business sponsorship will allow the students to spend four days in Shanghai where they will also perform and enjoy opportunities to learn about cultural, economic and educational aspects of one of the most populous and dynamic cities in the world.06-12-2018, Councilmember Paul Koretz holds Press Conference to Announce Highly Awarded Hamilton High Jazz Ensemble to Perform in China Sponsored by Sister Cities of Los Angeles and the China General Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles.
